Folklore, craft and slow living between the woods and the water
Our story
Meet ‘Loveday‘ and ‘Skip’
Two maker – creators enjoying a slow, quiet, creative life
Stewart, ‘Skip’
Maker l Jewellery & Pyrography
Stewart has been living off-grid for over 16 years, making his home in buses and wagons. Today, he resides in a woodland wagon with his mischievous, very vocal crow, Skip.
A former Master Farrier, Stewart transforms horse nails into striking jewellery that carriers echoes of ancient craft. Using pyrography, he leaves a mystical touch on everyday wooden objects, as if each remembers the fire that shaped it. When he’s not at the anvil, you might find him exploring the winding lanes of Dorset on his beloved Triumph Bonneville, ‘Betty’, always seeking inspiration in the quiet corners of the world.
Alongside Claudia, Stewart is the maker behind Loveday & Skip, blending craftsmanship, care and a deep love of a life lived close to nature. Every creation is a whisper of story, memory, and the world that surrounds him.
Living on a narrowboat in the heart of the city, Claudia has carved a peaceful sanctuary amidst the trees, wildlife, and calm waters of the canal, an oasis away from the city’s rush.a peaceful home surrounded by the trees, wildlife, and the calm waters of the canal. She shares her small space with her old soppy cat, Mr Tom.
With a background in art and textiles, Claudia delights in experimenting with new creative projects, often using whatever comes to hand. Her resourceful, imaginative approach turns ordinary materials into playful, whimsical objects imbued with personality.
Together with Stewart, she is the maker of Loveday & Skip, blending artistry, care, and a deep connection to the natural and mystical world around her. Every object she creates holds a little piece of the calm, enchanted life by the water.
